The Door Between Us

Some doors are meant to stay open. Some are meant to close gently. Some should be slammed shut. And some require courage to even touch the handle.

The Door Between Us is a contemplative poetry collection about the spaces between—between who you were and who you’re becoming, between you and your body, between yourself and the people you love, and between pain and compassion.

Each chapter is its own door, named and explored with intention. Together, these poems move through the complicated places we don’t always know how to talk about: body image, self-criticism, family and inner-child wounds, romantic loss, toxic love, depression, identity, and the process of learning to meet yourself with more compassion.

These pages ask questions rather than offer easy answers: What am I holding onto? What no longer serves me? What would it look like to meet myself with love instead of judgment?
