Mental Health Facility Workshops
Mental health treatment addresses the clinical side of healing, but there is also value in creating space for self-expression, creativity, identity, and self-discovery through writing. However, creative writing may not be an area that many therapists are adept in. And that's where we come in!
We offer two types of workshops for mental health facilities: guided journaling workshops for groups/clients and educational workshops for clinicians to learn about guided journaling and how to bring it into their practice.
Workshops for Clients & Groups
All With Heart workshops offer a creative, non-clinical supplement to the work already being done in mental health programs for people who could benefit from an additional space for reflection, creativity, self-expression, and personal exploration. They can be adapted for a variety of groups and populations without requiring the workshop to focus on a specific diagnosis, condition, or reason for treatment. For example, an all-women’s group might explore a theme such as "stepping into your power."
What we'll incorporate and explore:
- Guided journaling and reflective prompts
- Poetry and creative writing
- Self-discovery and identity exploration
- Self-expression through writing
- Self-awareness and personal reflection
- Creativity as a tool for processing
- Confidence and authentic self-expression
- Personal values and purpose
Workshops for Clinicians & Staff
Bring creative tools into your existing practice! For facilities that aren’t looking to bring in an outside facilitator for a client group, All With Heart can instead provide workshops directly for clinicians, staff, or facilitators. These sessions introduce practical journaling and poetry-based prompts that professionals can learn, experience, and take back into their own work.
What clinicians can learn:
- How to use guided journaling as a self-reflection tool
- Poetry prompts for self-expression and exploration
- Creative writing activities that encourage self-awareness
- Ways to make reflective exercises feel approachable
- How to facilitate creativity without needing a creative-writing background
- Prompts that can be adapted for different groups and settings
- Ways to incorporate creative expression alongside existing therapeutic work
Our goal with this offering is to give clinicians another set of creative tools they can thoughtfully incorporate into the work they’re already doing.
What Makes Us Different?
For many people, the hardest part of creative expression is simply knowing where to begin. Our guided prompts and practices take the guesswork out of it and make creativity feel accessible, natural, and supportive. This helps create space where people begin to feel, see, express, and connect inward, rather than just aimlessly putting pen to paper or checking out.
Our participants express that they've found greater self-awareness, explored parts of themselves they may not always have had space to examine, and discovered new ways to express what they’re feeling and experiencing.
